Whose Business Is It?
Steve McDaniel
Here are a few simple guidelines to help you decide how involved you need to be in a problem.
God's Business
You didn't have anything to do with selecting your birth date, your birth parents, your siblings, your ethnicity, your country of orgin, your eye color, your height, your IQ, or the basic building blocks from which you're able to begin building your life. These things are all in the realm of God's Business.
Other People's Business
When someone else is making a decision you think is unwise, and they are an adult not under your direct supervision, that's the most telling indicator that you're in the realm of Other People's Business.
My Business
Things that affect your finances, your physical self, your attitudes, your education, your career choices, your choice of a mate, your food likes and dislikes, your decorating choices, your clothing purchases, your car, the route you take to work, and so on are all examples of your own business. Others may offer up an opinion from time to time, but you are under no obligation to act on their advice.
